About Us

I grew up around the retail business since I can remember. My dad and mom ran a successful hardware business in Tela, Honduras. My career in the fashion merchandising business began in 1981 while I was still in college. My first job was working for New Orleans local icon Yvonne LeFleur at her uptown store, You Boutique, located in the Riverbend district of the city.

After graduating from Dominican College, I was hired by one of New Orleans' landmark department stores, Gus Mayer. I began in sales, and not long after that I moved into buying while working on my graduate degree at Loyola University. For over 5 years, I was a professional buyer specializing in women's apparel.

From 1988-1995, I was the General Manager for one of the most innovative women's clothing stores in the south, Lazybug. Working side by side with artists and manufacturers, I had the opportunity to see a completely different and more creative side of the business.

Having worked for other people for almost 14 years, I decided to take the plunge and start my own business. In 1995, I opened Nia's Just For Kid's, a beautiful children's boutique in Metairie, Louisiana. With my mom as my assistant, we built a very successful business from the ground up, and had more than 18 wonderful years. The people we met, and the relationships we formed over those years, were priceless.

I am very excited to have the opportunity of working with The Bailey Boys. We have a beautiful showroom in Dallas, TX and I truly enjoy working with all of our stores who carry our beautiful outfits. It's a real pleasure to share my experience with others, and help them build and grow their businesses.
